Stepper motor driver spec?

There are two types of stepper motor drivers(A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Carrier, DRV8825 Stepper Drivers) on this site, and I do not know which one to use.
Is it ok to use anything?

Hey @eachone,

basically you can use both versions. As far as I know, it is recommended to use the A4988 Driver, since it supports the mm/sec function. It is listed in Bill of Materials.
Right now I am using both types, didnt experience any trouble so far.

You may use either, but pay attention to the installation orientation of the drivers, as they appear opposite. If you put your stepper drivers in backward, they may stop working and/or fry other electronics. From the documentation:

For A4988 stepper drivers (min 1/16th step)
The tuning screw on each stepper driver should be on the FAR end of the driver from the green power connector of the RAMPS shield.
For DRV8825 stepper drivers (min 1/32nd step)
The tuning screw on each stepper driver should be on the NEAR end of the driver to the green power connector on the RAMPS shield.

Yes @Albert, they should work.

I think it is good choice.
In my case, I had miss ordered. So I cannot attach rotary encoder.
When buying a stepper motor, consider whether you want to use a rotary encoder.
