Using seedling cells

Hi All,

I’ve been toying around with the idea of building a Farmbot for a while now. When the online shop opens and I’m able to source the motors and the plates I’ll probably move to make it a reality because I have a 3D printer, arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc. already. However, what I’m really wanting to use the Farmbot for is to start flowers for my landscaping in the basement over the winter. I normally start the seeds in the celled growing inserts like you find flowers in at the home stores. However, I’m wondering if it would be possible to program the Farmbot to use these cells? I don’t think it would be feasible to breakup the plants if I just planted them in a large bed to transplant them into my yard.

Thanks!

Yes, that’s a great idea! As long as you are able to align the cells with the FarmBot axes and keep them in place, you should be able to add plants in the Farm Designer using the dimensions of the cells.

That’s awesome @Gabriel! Thank you for confirming!
