Looks almost like the raspberry pi has some corrosion on it but everything is sealed in its box and nothing out of the ordinary has occurred.
Looks like old solder flux residues that were not wiped/cleaned after the soldering process. I see that a lot on my own circuit boards but only on those that are exposed to UV light. The solder flux I use usually lasts approx 1 year.
So thats most likely only a cosmetic flaw
Did the device open up a Wifi AP? If not, you could try to reflash the sd card.
