Ethernet Connection Issue

Hey All,

I am forever trying to get my FarmBot up and running,

I have had issues connecting through the Wifi as was too far from the router… So I’ve wired ethernet to the farmbot but I when I plyug it in the data lights do not come on and I can’t find a way to get it connected?

Any advice appreciated.

Seems it could be bad cable or end-connector(s) . . can you test the cable with a PC/laptop ?

It seems to be the port because I have full internet access when I plug in the cable. I had a replacement Farmduino board as I have the Express XL and it kept rebooting, and tried that one too which which had the same issue. So could this be a problem with the raspberry pi? It’s a Rpi Zero

I found a little success by connecting the ethernet cable via an adapter and plugged it into the usb c port on the farmduino board. Now the data lights come on but I can’t seem to get it working through the setup configuration.

Hi @jlarter

The Farmduino Express firmware has no support for Ethernet adapters. You need to connect to the Raspberry Pi Zero.

Unless you have a v1.1 Express XL, you might be out of luck … the v1.1 comes with a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W which does support Ethernet over a USB adapter.

Edit:
@jlarter

In either case, there is just 1 USB port on the RPi Zero W so you need to use a USB Hub so that you have 2 ports (1 for Camera plus 1 for Ethernet adapter)
