Farmbot likes to plant the same plant from the seedtray

Hi all,

I’ve now got plenty of plants successfully planted via the Seed Bin. I’ve now tried to plant from the seed tray and whilst it picks up seeds far more successfully from there, my farmbot keeps trying to either:

Plant at the same location twice before moving to the next plant

or

Plant the same location over and over

I have included a ‘mark as planted’ in the command structure in the hope it would tick the location off the list but that doesn’t appear to have helped. This doesn’t happen with the seed bin and I can’t see any real difference in the command structure that would indicate this.

I have a variable with ‘externally defined’ listed and then ask the farmbot to plant a group of plants that are listed as planned.

Any ideas?

Do you use identical sequence code to plant from seed bin or tray ?

Have you tested planting from the bin again after these failures using the tray ?

I’m going to test the Seed Bin this afternoon.

Here’s an example of the seed tray sequence:

Just tried with the seed bin. That sequence works fine.

I have noticed a ‘retrying movement’ error comes up during the seed tray planting sometimes. Might that be ‘resetting’ the sequence?

That might.
Can you see in the LOGS near the ‘Retrying movement’ message
any other logs like ‘Stall detected on …’ axis or ‘Failed to execute command: Movement error.’ ?
