FarmBot not connecting to hotspot

Hey,

I’m having trouble connecting the FarmBot to my iphone hotspot. To give some background information: I setup the FarmBot last year and at the time I used my iphone hotspot to setup a network, which was working fine. Now, after a winter break, I tried to reconnect the FarmBot to my hotspot, which didn’t work. I tried different things like reflashing the FarmBot OS onto the Raspberry Pi, tried to connect to hotspot of another phone, turning "maximise compatibility “Off” and also back “On” again and changing my password. Somehow nothing seems to work.
Also I realised in my last try to setup the wifi, that in the Configurator window when choosing the network there wasn’t a lock symbol behind my hotspot and in the next step I also wasn’t asked to enter the password, even though I have a password set. The same thing happened with another phone.
The only thing that worked so far was when I took the raspberry pi home and connected it to my home wifi network, but since the location of the FarmBot is more remote, I would like to connect it to a phone hotspot.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem with the hotspot could be and how to solve this?

Greetings,
Stephanie

Tried a phone on a different Telco ?
I recently tested my bot on my phone hot-spot (Australia) and all worked just fine (so I ran a couple of sequences)

Yes, the other phone also had a different Telco but still the same problem occurred

More questions . .

  • Are you seeing any logs or other ‘signs of life’ at the FarmBot Web App ?
  • Does the Web App load Ok on your phone at that remote location ?

The FarmbotOS runs a port 80 web server (in Configurator mode and when on-line)
You might see something helpful if you browse to the IPv4 address which your mobile hotspot dishes out to the bot. Browse http://<your bot’s IPv4 address>/logger
