How can I make the Z-axis work?

Hi all,

I’m installing a farmbot at an agricultural college in the UK and I’ve got Z axis issues which do not seem to be covered by other posts. I’m hoping they’re all related!

Summary is:

  1. It grinds against the upper limit when asked to Find Home until I press E-Stop
  2. It grinds against the lower limit when asked to Find Length until I press E-Stop
  3. The Z co-ordinate is always set at zero, even when vertical movement has been activated
  4. It won’t allow me to press the toggle to move vertically (it’s greyed out)
  5. It won’t move to a new Z co-ordinate when given an absolute co-ordinate command
  6. Even a relative vector command movement fails

Issues 3-6 are new. It was able to move along the Z axis even if the home hadn’t been set through the Find Home function. I have tried giving it manual measurements of the axis but that hasn’t changed functionality. I have also re-flashed the card. I have followed the setup instructions but am now a bit stuck.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Hi @DanAskham you could seek help from FarmBot Inc. support. The Farmduino board might be unwell. Send your email message to contact@farm.bot
