I noticed that setting the zSafe value lower than the height of the tool mount can cause issues during the tool mounting process. Specifically, the machine first moves down to the zSafe height, which may result in a collision with the tool mount. My zSafe is currently set to -400. My tools are mounted at -326
Since my ground level has been lowered, this is currently happening in my setup. I plan to fill it in with new soil later.
Sequence:
mount_tool(variable("Tool"))
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior? Could this possibly be a software bug?
Hi
Not sure why the zSafe would be at -400. zSafe is designed to be the height that the head can cover the entire planter bed, without crashing into any plants or equipment. I cannot see any reason that zSafe should be below the tool deck as that violates the purpose of the setting.
Can I ask, what was the reason for setting zSafe below the deck. (-400 on my equipment is the soil) so my plants would be destroyed at that setting.
Possibly
Certainly scope for a helpful software improvement there (e.g. use Tool Mount Z value as the basis to overrule the zSafe value before approaching the Tool Mount ‘XY zone’, etc.)
