Open source camera vision based doraying

I am interested in tinkering with the idea of building a vision-based spot spraying tool bar for my farm. The release of some fairly effective herbicides approved for organic production has revived my interest in this concept. recently I have been testing a product by the name of home plate. It is a contact herbicide with the active ingredient of caproic acid. it is very effective, however, would never work on a broad field application, because it is nonselective. Would anybody on this forum have the insight and interest to develop a prototype? I am hoping to train the camera to identify the crop row and spot spray, anything deemed non-desirable. Is the farmbot open source software an appropriate platform for this? please advise and thank you for your time.
