I am at the point of deciding the ideal depth of the soil in our planned FB XL project.
The question I have is this:
Is a 12" soil bed adequate, or should I plan for and construct a deeper bed? (18" or 24")

I have planned on a depth around 25 cm if I remember correctly. My main though was due to carrotsĀ“ length. You are anyways not able to grow any taller plant than 50 cm, which normally correlates to their rootsĀ“ length, right?
And itĀ“s really not a good idea to go beyond 50 cm height, IĀ“ve just proven it with broccoli
