Scaling the farmbot

Can it be designed or customized so that the machine can be moved from one farming bed to another farming bed, without buying the equipment for each bed. In this way it can be scaled to 2 - 5 farming beds depending on how much space you have.

I think the project is great, it would be a great investment for using it in my future projects.

I have wondered the same thing. since the Farmbot Express is a “walking” not a “railed” robot why not create adjacent parallel beds and a crossover bridge so it can walk over to the next bed. So you would have X/Y/Z axis program #1 and then a move to bridge track, shift the entire assembly left or right to next bed and run program #2, …etc. seems there would need to B (bridge) axis composed of several sub X bed width. For simplicity all beds would be the same size. Seems like a possibility. You have multi room maps for a robot vacuum and in some cases can elect to clean a specific room or all. Thoughts?

Basically you build a separate gantry to move the whole gantry over. The Farmbot blindly goes along happy with its X/Y/Z program basically oblivious to it’s on a different bed. You ideally would want a program swap to allow for an entirely different crop pattern.
