Stepper driver current limit

I have the red A4988 stepper driver
According to the forum I have the 1704HS168A stepper motor
The max current is 1.68A
The Rcs is 0.1ohm
Therefore the v-ref should be 1.68 x 8 x 0.1 = 1.344V

Also to increase speed with out locking up its best to increase voltage
