Strange behaviour of X2 direction flip

I have been attempting to diagnose my X2 motor on my Genesis 1.7 that keeps ‘pausing’, which is causing the gantry to drag and triggers movement errors.

I decided to look through the motor settings on the app. I saw nothing useful for my debugging so I exited the settings page. I tried running a script and the gantry started to seriously twist. Very strange X2 was running in the opposite direction. I had a look at the setting again and the ‘invert 2nd motor’ was ON (As it was the first time I saw it). The motor is physically reversed in the cradle so it made sense that it was set to reverse. I had to turn it to OFF to get FB running again.

I don’t think I clicked on it the first time I looked at the settings. My question is this.

Should that setting be OFF or ON?

Can someone look at their settings and let me know?

On my genesis 1.5, the X2 invert is on

Thanks

I don’t understand how my direction can be reversed. I am certain it was on, but now needs to be OFF. It makes no sense

I have worked out what happened here. Entirely my fault.

\When I was diagnosing the failing X2 motor, I removed the belt to watch the motor behaviour without a load.

When I put the belt back on, I installed it with a single twist. As soon as I removed the twist, the motor started moving in the correct direction.
