just getting started and get familiar with Farm designer,
what are the Farm designer points? and how can I remove them?

The points shown are weeds detected by the Weed Detector (the green DETECT WEEDS button). They can be deleted by pressing the red CLEAR WEEDS button in the Weed Detector (accessed via the Farmware page).
