My poor expression I guess. Agree that while the axis motor is “cruising” at set top speed, the periodic stutter is synced to the Green LED flash on the Farmduino (at fixed 0.57 Hz).

Interesting.

What does the Green LED represent?

Also, the double click would indicate a loop that is not clean when it needs to loop.

Agree that these in-motion “clicks” or “stutters” are due to the Farmduino firmware and not hardware.

Here’s another post related to this but this OP thinks there are missed steps, not just “mis-timed” steps.

Hello everyone! I am building custom FarmBot. And from very beginning, i.e. when first time I connected together RPI, ARDUINO , RAMPS and stepper motor, I noticed periodical hits in motor when it rotated. I did not mentioned it for a while. But now I decided to dig into this trouble. What I did: Tried other types of drivers. Other A4988s and DRV8825. No difference. the head is like 100 mm lower or more when there has been no instruction from it to move from 0. i think i can even home everything, go to sleep, look in the morning and find it dropped a bunch without being used at all
