Z axis stall detection issues

Hi guys,

A couple of years ago, my school bought a farmbot express v1.1 and I am working on the farmbot as a side project.

So everything went fine until I had some trouble with the z axis. It constantly produces a stall detection and we’ve done a myriad of debugging, including:

  1. Buying a new stepper motor and farmduino (did not resolve the issue)
  2. Testing out voltage outputs with a multimeter (seems to be fine, but I am not quite sure what these readings indicate)
  3. Running the motor detached from the coupler (produces a stall detection)
  4. Running z-axis command without a motor (again, stall detection)
  5. Swapping z axis connection with y axis connection (z axis works when I powered the y axis)

Any help would be appreciated and I’m happy to share more details!

Good job with your debug attempts, did you check on the Troubleshooting docs?
First check motor settings in your webapp as its not even running detached from its coupling.
